About Me
Fine Art Cityscape, Landscape & Street Photography
I am a Saint Louis-based photographer with over 25 years of experience specializing in fine art cityscape, landscape, and street photography. My work focuses on the history, architecture, and quiet moments that make a place worth looking at twice.
Whether I'm shooting the iconic lines of the Gateway Arch or capturing the Oregon coast at dusk, my goal is simple: to share what I find beautiful in the world, and remind others that the simplest scenes can engage, entertain, and awe.

The Darkroom Days
I learned photography in the pre-digital era. This was back when getting it right in camera wasn’t optional, because you wouldn't know if you got it right until the film was developed and the prints were made.
In high school, standing in the darkroom under red lights, I watched images slowly appear on paper. It looked like magic. But it wasn't magic. It was chemistry, temperature, test strips, and timing. The darkroom grounded me in the science of the craft, while composing the frames in the viewfinder fed my creative side. It was during this time that I won a Kodak Medallion of Excellence for a night photo of the Chicago skyline, which hung in an art museum for a month.
Out of high school, practicality took over. I realized I needed money to live, so I put down my camera and started a career.
Twenty years later, I finally found myself in a position to travel. I wanted to capture the places I was seeing, so I bought a simple digital point-and-shoot. It didn't take long to remember exactly how much I loved this. Within a year, I upgraded to a DSLR, and I haven't stopped shooting since.
Between my years on film and my decades in the digital world, I've spent over 25 years refining how I see the world through a lens. Recently, my work was selected for the gallery at the 2026 KelbyOne Summit, an annual gathering of the community's most recognized educators and artists.

How I See the World
"Photography is my way of participating in the world. It helps me see what others might walk right past."
I am drawn to the places where the man-made and the natural world intersect. Cityscapes, street corners, open landscapes, quiet woodlands, these are the scenes that pull me in. I love capturing the moments that only reveal themselves when you slow down enough to notice them.
With every image, I want to tell a story that might otherwise go unnoticed. I don't overcomplicate the process or the final image. I want the viewer to feel the same sense of calm and clarity that I felt when I pressed the shutter.
